Environmental Management System EN ISO 14001:2004 | ||||
J&P-AVAX scope of works includes Civil Engineering Works, Buildings, Hydraulic Installation, Harbours, Roads and Motor Ways, Power Plants, Refineries, LNG terminals, Electromechanical Works, Industrial Projects, Oil and Water – Sewage Pipeline Works, Natural Gas, and Environmental Projects and applies a documented Environmental Management System according ISO 14001:2004. Within this framework the company is in position to recognise any eventual impact generated from its business activity on the natural environment. In addition, the company has committed itself to take all necessary steps to the greatest possible extent in order to minimise the said impacts. More specifically, the company has undertaken to: • Acknowledge and fully comply with the Environmental Laws (Greek, European, International) governing the activities of the company. J&P-AVAX S.A. believes that environmental protection is an obligation of everybody and has committed itself to implement all possible measures, procedures and systems in order to minimise any negative environmental impact and maximise the respective positive effects. |

The Environmental Management System of J&P Avax is formed based on the ISO 14001 standard and the company’s Environmental Policy. Its field of application covers all the stages of the company’s operations from the bid preparation and submission, aiming to get awarded with a project and the monitoring of the agreements, up to the organisation and application of the environmental management system to all construction sectors that the group is active.
Separate Objective Achievement Programmes may be established in the projects or the facilities of the company for a specific project. |

J&P-AVAX S.A. abides by different procedures on the basis of which the training needs of its staff are recognised, including the training needs for the implementation of the Environmental Management System. All members of the staff carrying out works that may lead to environmental impact are trained, experienced and have their work supervised. The company observes that its entire staff is aware of environmental management issues, so that all employees know that they play an important role in the improvement of environmental parameters. Awareness is achieved through training seminars and informative editions carried out at the responsibility of Quality, Safety and Environment Management Department. Thus, the company's staff is able to know: 1. The importance of compliance with company's environmental policy, procedures and requirements of the EMS. 2. Significant environmental aspects of the site, project or facility in which is employed, and related actual or potential impact of his work, and environmental benefits of the improved personal performance. 3. Roles and responsibilities for achieving compliance with the requirements of the EMS. 4. The potential consequences of deviation from specified procedures of the company. |

All projects of J&P Avax group are governed by the ISO 14001 standard and comply with the approved environmental terms of each project and all the regulations along all procedural stages, (from the bid submission until the construction, facility management and operation of the project). The group has received several awards for projects that have constructed entirely on its own, as well as others that participated in the form of a consortium. J&P Avax during the construction and management of all these projects, applies to them the ISO 14001 standard according to which the company is certified. |
