Continuous program

Our Company, constantly pioneering in environmental issues, has been the first dairy company in Southeastern Europe that has installed an integrated liquid waste treatment plant that produces biogas. The cost of this investment at TYRAS factory, located in Trikala, has been estimated around 13M euros till today. The quantity of biogas produced the last four years, contributes to an efficient waste management policy and the production of “green” energy, thus importantly decreasing our carbon footprint.

We are also committed to reducing our environmental footprint and promoting circular economy, through the conservation of natural resources. Also, we are engaged to supporting the concepts of “Recycle” and “Reuse”, regarding materials and products, during the production process and supply chain, starting from the raw materials to the final consumer.

In the last few years, we are investing in innovative technological solutions regarding internal and external communications, to promote a paperless and sustainable work environment.

In collaboration with the National Rewarding Recycling Multicenter, our Company through the monetary contributions, supports the purchase, installation, and operation of new Multicenters, where millions of packaging materials are recycled.

Finally, we continuously invest in new technologies and innovations regarding the adoption of eco-friendly packaging solutions. Our vision is to eliminate the environmental impacts from our packaging, and we are committed to using less plastic, for reducing all the relevant raw materials (polyethylene, propylene, polyamide, PET) and so the firstly demanded oil.

REWARDING RECYCLING MULTICENTER

Recycling is supported by the daily participation of the employees.

All over Greece

We remain faithful for the continuous reduction of our environmental footprint and promote the circular economy in practice by preserving natural resources and recycling.

During 2021, the total amount of monetary contributors, is equal to the purchase, installation and operating cost of one Rewarding Recycling Multicenter, where 2.447.205 pieces pf packaging materials (362kg) were recycled

In particular, they have been covered:

  • 1.708.713   plastic packages or 256.307 kg of plastic
  • 219.213 aluminium packages or 32.882 kg aluminium
  • 99.344 tinplate packages or 12.418 kg  tinplate material
  • 220.232 of glass packages  or  55.058 kg of glass

  • Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
  • Effectively whey treatment during the production process
  • Sludge extracted from the waste management system is incinerated avoiding disposal
  • Informing and raising awareness of employees through special seminars and trainings
  • Reducing the amount of water consumed using technologically advanced processes and frequent checks for wear/leakage
