The collaboration with ReHORECA, with Cactus Hotels CEO Mr. Nikos Chalkiadakis as a founding member, seeks to create a comprehensive and reliable reporting framework that:

• enables continuous evaluation of progress,

• strengthens the trust of employees, guests, partners, and the local community,
• and establishes sustainability as an integral part of the corporate culture.

The initiative is addressed to:

1. Employees of Cactus Hotels, fostering a culture of transparency and sustainability.
2. Guests who wish to know the positive impact of their stay.
3. Partners and suppliers, encouraging responsible practices across the value chain.
4. Local community and institutions, with the aim of disseminating best practices.
5. The business and hospitality community, as a model for the application of systematic sustainability reporting.

The initiative has been implemented since July 2025 and is ongoing, with continuous monitoring, evaluation, and improvements across all Cactus Hotels.

The Sustainability Reporting initiative of Cactus Hotels was designed to create a reliable and transparent framework for recording the group’s sustainability performance. Since July 2025, in collaboration with ReHORECA – whose founding member is CEO Mr. Nikos Chalkiadakis – a comprehensive methodology was developed for collecting, monitoring, and disclosing indicators covering the areas of environment, society, and governance.

Innovative elements:

1. Integration of circular economy practices into measurement and reporting of indicators.
2. Use of a digital platform for data collection and processing.
3. Alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
4. Active involvement of employees in recording and evaluating results.
5. Publication of information in a way that is clear and accessible to guests, partners, and the local community.

In this way, Cactus Hotels is positioned as a pioneer in the Greek hospitality sector, enhancing transparency and demonstrating its tangible commitment to sustainability.

The initiative is implemented in collaboration with ReHORECA, an organization that promotes circular economy and sustainable practices in hospitality and catering. The CEO of Cactus Hotels, Mr. Nikos Chalkiadakis, is a founding member of ReHORECA, a fact that reinforces the strategic character of the collaboration. Through this partnership, tools and processes have been developed to ensure reliable data collection, targeted analysis, and transparent disclosure of sustainability indicators.

The initiative is actively supported by Cactus Hotels employees, who participate in collecting, recording, and processing data related to energy, water, recycling, and social contribution. Through specialized training sessions and workshops, staff acquired skills in monitoring sustainability indicators, contributing to the accurate and transparent reporting of the organization’s performance.

This participation goes beyond a technical level, cultivating a culture of responsibility and cooperation, and empowering employees to act as ambassadors of sustainable development both within and outside the organization.

The initiative is implemented in all Cactus Hotels in Stalida, Crete, covering guest facilities, common areas, and operational units, in collaboration with ReHORECA.

The initiative led to the systematic recording and disclosure of sustainability indicators (energy, water, waste, social activities), enhancing transparency and the organization’s credibility.
Employees were trained in monitoring tools, resulting in 85% improved participation in data recording.
At the same time, the communication of results to customers, partners, and the local community increased trust and recognition of the social and environmental footprint of Cactus Hotels.
