In a world changing by new technologies, artificial intelligence and developments in biotechnology, while at the same time the need for protection of human rights and for a social and solidarity-based economy is increasing, traditional tools fail to respond to modern challenges. In the coming years, it is estimated that the social impact assessment will be a precondition for any action, investment or funding.

The Archimedes project seeks to fill the gap for a holistic tool for assessing the social impact of projects, actions and investments. This tool will present a large number of evaluation criteria, which will result in an assessment of the social net present value and the social internal rate of return on projects, actions and investments.

The project’s ultimate aim is to gradually change attitudes and perceptions as to the importance of social value, and to create the conditions in which the application of social value and social impact will be a precondition for the implementation of any action, initiative or investment.

The Archimedes project is implemented under the Active citizens fund program.

The Active citizens fund in Greece is supported through a € 12m grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway as part of the EEA Grants 2014-2021. The program aims to develop the sustainability and capacity of the civil society sector in Greece, and to strengthen its role in promoting and safeguarding democratic procedures, active citizenship and human rights. the Fund Operating for the Active citizens fund in Greece is Bodossaki Foundation in consortium with SolidarityNow.
